I am a Swiss-German software engineer (of the DevOps flavor, if you fancy that) living in the metropolitan area of Switzerland’s (technically unofficial) capital, Bern. In my free time, I play video games, tabletop role-playing games, use a 3d printer for all things imaginable and walk and train with my dog.
I finished my Matura (or Abitur or I suppose high school) in 2009, finished an apprenticeship in Software Engineering, and started working and studying part-time. After finishing my Masters of Science in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (whew) I shortly tried working in academia and returned to working as a software engineer in the private sector.
You’ll find more detailed information on the CV page - but in essence, I am used to develop software in Python & Java, dabbled in frontends a little, and feel confident operating Debian & Fedora systems. Recently, I am growing my knowledge of Kubernetes (and OpenShift) and data engineering. Unfortunately my tomb of understanding in my studies topics (genetics, ecology and a lot of other biological topics) has remained sealed.
